The Gables is a wonderful old Victorian B listed town house situated in the heart of Banff, actually between the Town Hall and the Job Centre! It is a fairly large house with four bedrooms, three of which are for letting and one for the owners. The two bedrooms at the front of the house are large double rooms, one with a double bed and two full size bunk beds which is used as a family room if required, and the other has a single bed as well as the normal double bed, so can sleep three. Each of these has a bathroom en-suite. The third letting room is a twin bedded room at the back of the house which looks out over the wonderful secluded garden. This room also has its own bathroom which is one pace outside the room and exclusive to that room. All are furnished to a high standard with good quality bedding and each has tea/coffee making facilities, satellite TV and toiletries supplied. There is a small DVD library for guest use and the bookshelves are stacked with a wide selection of reading material for all tastes! The guest living room on the ground floor, has a large open fireplace in which a blazing log fire is set in the coldest part of the winter, making the room really cosy and a great place to sit and relax and get to know the other guests or read a good book in peace and comfort. The North East of Scotland has a wonderfully diverse history and heritage and plenty of things to see and do. Banff is centrally located for the glorious beaches of the Moray coast which has some great walking paths of varying lengths to suit all levels. There is a plethora of fantastic golf courses throughout the North East and enough Castles to satisfy the heritage and history hunters for a lifetime. Banff itself has a rich history and there is enough to keep you occupied for a day or two by staying locally and exploring the town. By no means least on the tour, you could include a visit to a whisky distillery (or two)?!, as we are close to the “Whisky Trail” Whatever your penchant, there is more than enough to satisfy the average explorers needs, not forgetting the Grampian Mountains and the ski slopes within an hours drive.
