The area also has the Centre for Alternative Techonology in it at Machynlleth and Rock Mill is at Llandysul and this is the last of the working waterwheel-powered Welsh woollen mills.

Broniwan is a small, organic farm close to the west coast of Wales in Ceredigion, (Cardiganshire). We welcome guests to our home, a traditional stone Victorian house built originally for the local doctor in 1867 by his grandfather, who lived in the earlier eighteenth century house, now a converted barn. There are lovely views of the Preseli hills from pine-panelled windows. Beech trees lining the drive lead up to the gardens surrounding the house. There are forty five acres of meadow and grassland plus a small stream for guests to explore. Two eager dogs are keen to show people around, if allowed. There are two pretty double bedrooms. One with ensuite shower, the other with private bath and shower. Each bedroom has tea-making facilities. The dining room and sitting room, furnished with country antiques, books and water-colours, look out onto the terraced lawn where finches, nuthatches and our woodpecker come to the feeder. Meals for guests are prepared from home-grown produce using our own organic beef, eggs, fruit and vegetables where possible. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine. Ten minutes drive takes you to the coastal paths and beaches. The River Teifi and Welsh Wildlife centre with its otters are nearby. Gardens at Llanerchaeron, at the National Botanical gardens and at Aberglasney are an easy distance away. Rates : From £38 per person per night. Children are welcome over the age of 11. No smoking. Judith and Kenneth Hicks welcome you to Plas Cerdin Bed and Breakfast. Plas Cerdin is a split level house, standing in it's own grounds, with some outstanding panoramic views down the unspoiled Cerdin Valley. We are 350 yards from the main road down a private drive which leads to peace and tranquility.. There is ample parking space with level access to the house. While you are staying with us, you may like to take a stroll around the garden, or relax in the comfortable lounge taking in the view or weather permitting out side on the veranda. During the winter we light the wood burner making the lounge very cosy. There is a separate dining room where you can enjoy a full English breakfast. The bedrooms are well appointed with Tea/Coffee facilities, Colour TV, en-suite and a information pack of local area interest. Room 1 contains one double bed and two full size single beds with a shower room. The double bed is partly divided from the single beds. New Quay has sandy beaches and a small harbour, with boat trips taking you out into the bay to see porpoise, seals and dolphins. If you are looking for the large market towns, Cardigan, Aberystwth and Camarthen are within easy reach. The nearest village is Llandysul, it has a very popular Canoeing Centre on the river Teifi, and not far from the village is a working woollen mill. Newquay offers yet more sandy beaches, sailing and a wildlife centre. Aberaeron is a charming town with its pretty painted Georgian houses and stone walled harbour.
