We are perfectly positioned for both country and seaside walks yet are close to Belfast City Airport and bus and rail links to Belfast City centre and beyond. The Cottage is located close to the centre of the picturesque and historic Village of Crawfordsburn on the edge of Crawfordsburn Country Park, consequently there are a variety of countryside, forest and seaside walks, directly from the house. Other attractions include, The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, championship Golf courses at Bangor, Clandeboye and Royal Belfast and the Marina at Bangor, all within a short drive. For an excellent lunch or an evening meal, the historic Old Inn is a 2 min stroll away, whilst the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel is within a 5 min drive. Walking & Cycling For the more energetic, the nearby Ulster Way gives access to a walking and cycling network that runs throughout Northern Ireland. The less energetic can take a stroll to the Beach at Helenís Bay. A longer walk to Holywood along the costal path with lunch at the ďDirty Duck ď with return train to Helenís Bay, makes a nice days outing. Those preferring not to walk can take a bus from close to the entrance to the cottage, going either to Bangor or in the other direction to Belfast via Holywood. We offer two en suite rooms, one double bedded first floor room and one ground floor triple room with one single and one double bed . Each room is equipped with television, iron, ironing board, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the courtyard. Oakleigh House B&B is situated near to the pretty Irish town of Newcastle in County Down and provides guests with a wonderful place to stay while exploring this magnificent part of Northern Ireland. We have 3 guest rooms at our bed and breakfast that are perfect for both single travellers or couples, however if you are travelling as a group of 4 or 6 guests we can reserve the whole B&B annex for you to use as a serviced flat. All of our guest rooms are on the ground floor and have en suite shower rooms. Each of the guest rooms has a lovely rural view and television that you can enjoy. A mini bar is available for guests to help themselves to and there are a selection of tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits and fresh milk. You are welcome to take this to your B&B room or into our sunroom where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Mourne Mountains and surrounding countryside. Breakfast is served in our sunroom between 8a and 10am, but we can serve an earlier breakfast if required. We have a variety of options to choose from to ensure that you are starting your day right including the selection of hot and cold beverages that stay available all day and night. Lisnacurran Country House B&B is conveniently located with the entrance just a few yards off the main A1 Dublin-Belfast dual carriageway, only a few minutes from Hillsborough, 10 minutes from Lisburn, 1.5 hours to Dublin and just 20 minutes from Belfast. We can offer a range of options for travellers to Northern Ireland and Ireland with bed and breakfast, self catering and motor-home hire all on site and within a convenient location. All of the guest rooms are furnished to a high standard with a mix of modern and antique finishes. Our Garden Room is a disabled access room with wet room and mobility wall aids and our Dining Room is furnished with a collection of antiques and guests are welcomed with a lit fire on cold mornings. All of our rooms are decorated to a high standard and have a mix of modern and antique finishes. Flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi and Tea/Coffee making facilities and internal phones are available in all rooms. Our breakfasts at the Lisnacurran Country House B&B can be as big as a feast or as light as you like! The typical Ulster fry is prepared by Lynne on a traditional AGA so flavours are locked in with little or no oil. The homemade soda and potato bread is however traditionally crisp fried and the locally sourced eggs have the taste and texture of a fried egg but are cooked on Bake o' Glide on the Aga so again no oil. Poached, boiled, scrambled or fried? The choice is yours! New additions to our menu in 2014 include seeds and a dried fruit selection. The buffet dresser is laden every morning with a selection of cereals, bread for toasting, fruit on request and a selection of local Northern Irish yoghurts.
