A complete holiday service run by Richard and Sally Slocock. This has a small separate wing, with its own staircase. The wing has a dining room with a fine open fire. Upstairs there is a double bedroom and private bathroom. Close to the farmhouse there are two separate annexes, one a conversion of a small period barn, boasting handsome beams and the other a recent addition to the buildings around the house. Both have been thoughtfully designed to provide our guests with comfortable private retreats. One annexe has a double and a single bed – the other is twin bedded; both have bathroom ensuite, colour TV, arm chairs and tea/coffee making facilities. The Mayfly Room is an exceptionally useful feature available to all our visitors. This comfortable room is equipped with fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities, greatly assisting those Bed and Breakfast guests who wish to do a little catering for themselves. The fishing is mainly for brown trout (wild and stocked) but there are some splendid grayling and the occasional salmon and sea trout in the lower beats of the Frome. The waters vary from small, challenging brooks and sidestreams through to a very decent width and flow on the lower Frome – something for everyone! The Stables is a comfortable country house developed round a 1935 cottage overlooking the village of Frampton, in he heart of Thomas Hardy country. It is located 6 miles north of Dorchester and is set in a small area of woodlands off the A37. There is unrestricted off-road parking and 20 acres of ground with wildlife, ducks, sheep and horses. All guest accommodation is contained in a seperate wing of the house. It comprises a comfortable living room/TV lounge in the ground floor, a private staircase to a twin ensuite bedroom, double bedroom, single bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor. The twin beds can be converted to a king-size bed for stays of two nights or more. All rooms are double glazed with central heating and a log fire is lit in the living room in the cooler seasons. A full English or Continental breakfast is served until 9.00 am in the main dining room which overlooks the garden and grounds. For evening meals we can strongly recommend a wide range of picturesque local pubs which provide quality meals at very good value. During low season, evening meals can be provided by arrangement. The Stables specialises in pet friendly facilities for dogs and horses. Discounts are available for 3 or more nights. A non-refundable deposit will be requested for all advance bookings.
