The Old Farmhouse, Redshill Farm, dating back to the early 19th century, formally the home of one of the tenants of the Marquis of Tweeddale who then resided in the historic Yester House. In 1850 , the building was converted into a cart shed when the present Farmhouse was built. Recently restored from a run down state this tastefully designed building is now the home of Ian and Gill Tait who run the farm with their son. Redshill is mainly arable, growing barley for malting. There are also some sheep grazing on the permanent pasture. The Old Farmhouse, at Redshill Farm is a recently restored building, which dates back to the early 19th Century. The house is adjacent to a working arable farm, with extensive views of the Forth and the Lammermuir Hills. The dining room looks over a lovely courtyard to the front of the building, whilst to the rear the lounge overlooks a secluded patio area, with a rockery and a lawned area. Tastefully decorated guest rooms, all en-suite with tea/coffee trays and TV/DVD players. Ideally situated 1mile from the conservation village of Gifford , only 6 mile from the historic market town of Haddington and also within easy reach of Scotland’s’ wonderful capital, Edinburgh. You will enter North Berwick at the east side, follow the main road in all the way down to the town centre and then turn left into the High Street. Follow this along untill you come to a cross roads at the top of the hill and turn right into York Road. We are at the next crossroads. To reach us by road from the West and Airport: Follow the signs for North Berwick from the A1, you will enter the town along Dirlton Avenue, turn left at the 2nd set of traffic lights into York road and you will find us at the next cross roads. Enjoying a magnificent view of the Firth of Forth it is in a secluded setting on the edge of a quiet coastal village of Longniddry, only a few hundred yards from a golden sandy beach with rocky outcrops and well known as an area where sports like windsurfing and kitesurfing can be enjoyed. So much fun to watch too. Nearby are Aberlady Bay Nature Reserve and the beautiful sandy beaches of Gullane and Yellowcraig, the wonderful coastal walks and castles to visit and many other attractions of East Lothian on its doorstep.
