With its Sussex weather boarding this Mill House has a wealth of beams, inglenook fire places and old world charm. You will receive a warm and friendly welcome from the owners, Michael and Josie Taylor. The period house has been lovingly restored and the rooms are furnished to a high standard. Every effort has been made to add all the extras which will ensure your comfort. Situated between Battle and Rye, it makes an ideal base for walkers or cyclists wishing to explore 1066 Country, visit the historic towns or you can simply relax in our large traditional English garden. The Mill House in Brede, has two double bedrooms one with king size double bed the other twin bedded. They are beautifully furnished to a high standard with ensuite shower rooms, wc and wash basin, flat screen TV's with Freeview TV, Wi-fi, hospitality trays, hair dryers and clock radios, magazines and quality toiletries. There is a guest sitting room with a wood burning stove for those chilly winter's days. You will be welcomed with a tray of tea/coffee and home made cakes which you can enjoy by the fire in the winter or on a small terrarce area in the summer. Bathurst is a comfortable Sussex style house set in a private road and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty backing onto the Ashdown Forest with lovely country walks. On the Sussex/Kent borders, only a short drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells and the historic county town of Lewes. The first floor self-contained accommodation offers a large comfortable twin bedded studio/family room, with en-suite shower room, seating area with television, radio, telephone, hair dryer and beverage making facilities to ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay. Use of refrigerator if required. We have high chair and travel cot available for our younger visitor. Bathurst is a non smoking B&B. Breakfast – A quality full English breakfast is served in your room, the dining area looks over the garden. There is no strict time for breakfast, just let us know your requirements when you arrive. All dietary needs catered for. Organic and free-range produce used wherever possible. There is approximately half an acre of secluded garden, with a variety of trees and plants, please feel free to sit and enjoy on warmer days. Bathurst is a five minute drive from the Horder Centre a centre of excellence for replacement surgery. Bathurst is a gated house, as you approach the property the wrought iron gates will open automatically. There is ample parking on the drive. You will be given a fob to operate the gates, as they are locked last thing at night, ensuring total security for your vehicle. Bathurst is the ideal base from which to explore the vast and varied treasures of the National Trust and English Heritage properties, gardens, castle and other places of interest in the heart of the South East. The town itself is noted for its famous former resident, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Crowborough Beacon and East Sussex National Golf courses are also close at hand. Arrival: By car from Tunbridge Wells take the A26 to Crowborough. Stay on the A26 past the “Cross” pub on the left, then past Crowborough Beacon Golf Club, also on the left, Fielden Road is 200 yards on the right hand side, passing Fielden Lane and Langridge Close. Turn into Fielden Road, count six “sleeping policemen”, Bathurst is the second drive on the left. There is a bus stop at the top of Fielden Road, with a frequent bus service to Tunbridge Wells, Uckfield and Brighton. The main line train station is 10 minutes away by car. Hall Court is a Listed Georgian Farmhouse, beautifully furnished and full of character and atmosphere situated in an exceptionally peaceful area between the villages of Firle and Ripe. All the rooms have outstanding views across open farmland to the Downs. Perfect location for Glyndebourne, Charleston, Lewes and The South Downs. The Approach to the house is a hard surface winding drive with views to Firle Beacon and Mount Caburn. There is ample gravel driveway on three sides of the house for parking. Guests are welcome to spend time in the extensive garden with its outstanding views, and extraordinary peace and quiet. Hall Court Farmhouse has a wide and welcoming hallway. Off this are two large Reception rooms, both of which may be used solely by the guests, one being the Dining Room for Breakfast and one a Drawing Room with television if required and where tea and coffee may be taken on arrival or on return from a meal out or from the Opera. The house has central heating and fitted carpets throughout. From the Hallway leads a wide staircase up to a square, bright and spacious landing. The three guest bedrooms (two twin-bedded and one double-bedded) are all spacious, light and airy. The bedrooms have chests of drawers, dressing table, wardrobe or fitted cupboard, easy chairs, good sized tables for trays of china and glassware for guests to make their own drinks. There are always fresh flowers in the bedrooms. All the rooms have quite outstanding uninterrupted views over farmland to the South Downs. Hall Court Farm is perfectly situated just beneath the South Downs and mid-way between the delightful villages of Firle to the south and Ripe to the north. The villages of Glynde, Alciston, Berwick and Alfriston are all within ten minutes' drive. This area of the South Downs is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and The South Downs Way (a famous National trail) leads along the top of the Downs due south of Hall Court Farm linking Lewes and Alfriston (and beyond). Alfriston Village on the River Cuckmere is full of history and is a delightful place to visit with its magnificent Church , known as the Cathedral of the Downs, and The Clergy House (National Trust property and open to the public). The Cuckmere then winds its way down to the sea at the Seven Sisters Country Park which is an excellent area for walks, either to the beach or Friston Forest or the Downs. Hall Court is ideally situated for Glyndebourne visitors. Guests can leave the Opera car park and be at the Farm in twelve minutes. Guests can prepare their picnic in the Farmhouse and are welcome to keep items overnight in the fridge and freezer. Rates: From £50 to £60 per person per night.
