Situated near the menai straits this family run Licensed Guest House has a relaxing ambiance to offer their guests. We previously ran a Guest House in Caernarfon for 14 years till 2001 when we moved to this beautiful Victorian house desperately in need of renovation. Bron Menai is a Victorian residence on the edge of Caernarfon Town dating back to the 1830`s. A few minutes walk takes you to the town centre with the Historic Castle and many points of interest including the Welsh Highland Railway. Our en-suite bedrooms are tastefully furnished and provide guests with a comfortable stay and a good nights rest followed by a hearty breakfast. Nine bedrooms are on the first floor, access into the front of the house is by a few steps, from the car park at the rear of the house there are no steps. Private car park for residents only and we are part of the walkers and cyclists welcome scheme, providing a place to lock away cycles. We have one twin ground floor bedroom. For those who have walking difficulties. Access from the car park at the rear is all on one level. The dining room and lounge bar also ground floor. We have a residential Licensed Bar Lounge and evening menu for the traveller who wishes to relax for the evening. We are open at Christmas. Special deals are available, please enquire. Heulwen Guest House lies on the outskirts of Llanfachreth, a tiny village close to the centre of the Snowdonia National Park 31/2 miles from the old market town of Dolgellau. It is owned and run by Heulwen and Andy Watts, who established the business in 1985. The spacious south-facing bungalow is set in its own landscaped garden with magnificent views of the mountains and forests. This tranquil setting offers you the choice of forest walks, hill climbing, fishing, mountain biking or just touring the area by car. Bedrooms The accommodation consists of 3 large south facing bedrooms, all with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities (shower, toilet and hand basin) and patio doors leading into garden. There is also a twin/double room available with hand basin. All bedrooms have central heating, television,clock/radioalarm, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and information booklets about attractions in the area. The Tyn-y-Groes Hotel near Dolgellau is located on the A470 in the heart of the Coed-y-Brenin forest and is the closest licensed Bed & Breakfast Hotel to the renowned mountain bike tracks. 500 years ago the "Tyny" didn't have running water, let alone bathrooms so over the years shared bathrooms were installed with the luxury of hot water instead of a handmaid filling a copper bath (see the old tariff board), days some of you would yearn for. This was followed by the restyling of the bedrooms so that now we have 7 letting bedrooms incorporating en-suite bathrooms. Our 7 letting bedrooms now comprise of: - One single room Four twin/double bedded rooms (double by request) Two four bedded rooms. All en-suite, with bedside tables and lamps plus the ubiquitous bible, wardrobes and dressing tables, central heating, colour television, information literature plus complimentary tea and coffee. Clean towels with soap, shampoo and body wash are provided for your stay. Trouser press, hair drier, irons, pre packed lunches, clothes washing and drying service and travel cot are available at additional cost. The Tyn-y-Groes serves excellent food utilising Welsh products wherever possible and serving fine cask ales where everyone from locals to city folk will feel at home with the warm welcome provided by the family and dedicated staff. After a hard day riding the bike trails or walking the undulating terrain within this part of the Snowdonia National Park or maybe resting from your travels, warm your feet by a log burning fire during the winter or sun yourself in the secluded beer garden during the summer away from the toils of life and travelling.
