Maureen and Barry Penfound should very much like to welcome you to their traditional Victorian cottage situated on the outskirts of the hamlet village of Fritham 8 miles northwest of Lyndhurst. The cottage has direct forest access which is ideal for exploring the surrounding ancient woodlands and open forest plains where ponies, cattle and deer freely roam. You will be assured of much privacy and peace in accommodation situated entirely on the first floor of the cottage, comprising of your own double aspect sitting room with views to the south and east overlooking fields and countryside, bathroom with shower and electric shaver point and a comfortable double bedroom. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the comfortable bedroom. A traditional English breakfast is served downstairs in the dining room. Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement. There is a garage available for your car. Primrose Cottage is a non smoking home and as the guest accommodation is situated entirely on the first floor access for the disabled is very limited. Sorry no dogs unless they sleep in the car. The nearest shop is 3 miles away in a neighbouring village and there are excellent inns a short drive away with good quality sensibly priced food. The hamlet of Fritham is situated in the more peaceful north of the New Forest. It is surrounded for miles on all sides by ancient woodland, heaths and open plains where the animals graze. There are many forest tracks from the village and if you enjoy walking, cycling, bird watching or just being quiet, then the Fritham area will suit you. The Royal Oak, dating from the 17th century is one of the smallest pubs in the Forest, full of character and history. Rates : From £28 per person per night. Sorry, no children and pets. No smoking. Christine and Paul Ames and their black Labrador ‘Magic' welcome you to our peaceful and picturesque cottage situated in park-like grounds, adjacent to the New Forest where we have been offering quality Bed and Breakfast to guests for 20 years! Ashurst is a small village on the east side of the New Forest 3 miles from Lyndhurst, the ‘capital village' of the New Forest and 6 miles from Southampton. Kingswood Cottage offers two ensuite double rooms and one ensuite twin room, both with shower rooms. Beautifully furnished with co-ordinating soft furnishings the double aspect windows have views over the forest and are both comfortable and restful. The rooms are equipped with hospitality trays, colour tv's and hairdryers with an information folder containing places to visit and local restaurant menus. Our dining room is very much a forest room with old forest prints and other memorabilia. Books and maps are available for your use in planning your day. The conservatory leads off the dining room and comfortable sofas and a television make it a cosy place to relax. Breakfast is taken around a large table and is served between 8 and 9 am. Early breakfasts can be arranged for those leaving early to catch a boat or plane or even having to go to work. A wide choice is available with melon, fresh grapefruit and yoghurts in addition to cereal for those preferring a lighter breakfast. Our English breakfast will set you up for your day with locally produced bacon, eggs and sausages on the menu. Vegetarian and Special Diets are catered for. Just five minutes walk from the cottage are two pubs, a small bistro and an Indian Restaurant something for all tastes. We are happy to book tables for you, or, if you wish to go further afield, arrange a taxi to towns such as Brockenhurst, Cadnam, and Lymington. Travel to Ashurst is easy: by road - we are approximately one and a half hours from London: by rail - Ashurst (The New Forest) station on the mainline from London Waterloo to Poole via Southampton is five minutes walk: by air Southampton and Bournemouth airports are both within half an hour drive with Southampton having a rail connection through the New Forest. Hosts Trish and Tony Reay offer you a warm welcome at their B and B hotel in Hythe. The Four Seasons Bed and Breakfast has 12 comfortable rooms and is open all year. The accommodation has been completely upgraded since they purchased the hotel in the summer of 2005; In addition to new carpets, beds and decorations a WiFi system provides guests with free broadband internet access throughout the hotel using their own laptops etc. For those without portable equipment, there is a computer available on the ground floor with free broadband access. The bedrooms vary in size; 4 family, 4 single, 2 twin, 1 triple, 1 double. Some have en-suite, others have separate facilities. All rooms have wash basins, Flat screen, FreeView TV's and well stocked hospitality trays. Two of the rooms are on the ground floor. Three rooms now have Super-king sized beds. Full English or Vegetarian Breakfast is served from 06.30hrs. There is also a variety of cereals, bread and fresh fruit. Guests can also cater for themselves before the kitchen opens or later in the day using the toaster, microwave, kettle and fridge in the self-service kitchenette in the dining room. The Four Seasons B and B in Hythe has a large private car park next to the building which will accommodate 12 vehicles. There are approach lights and CCTV for added security. Hythe is an excellent spot for a holiday break; The New Forest National Park lies to the west with its beautiful, ancient woodland, open heather-clad commons and rich variety of wildlife including the famous ponies and red deer. Hythe is one of the Waterside Villages on Southampton Water.
