Holmefield Guest House, Darley Dale, Bakewell, Derbyshire

Kate and Geoff will be delighted to welcome you to their family run country house superbly located for visiting both Chatsworth and Haddon Hall and enjoying breathtaking views over the Derwent Valley.

Holmefield, a prestigious 4 yellow star awarded guest house which is given to the top guest houses representing the very best in quality of service and standards together with special good food award from the AA, is an elegant, spacious, Victorian country home located between Bakewell and Matlock and on the doorstep of the renowned Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall with many other popular attractions nearby.

The house is set in 3/4 of an acre of sheltered south facing gardens, enjoying uninterrupted views over the Derwent valley, which provide an enviable setting for guests to enjoy a drink and relax. A further delightful feature of the setting is the Historic Peak steam railway which can be seen from the house running between Matlock and Rowsley at weekends and most days during peak times, helping to create an atmosphere of a bygone era.

Holmefield is totally non smoking and we enforce this rule vigorously however, guests are welcome to smoke in the garden

Breakfast is taken at individual tables in our spacious Dining Room which again enjoys superb views over the Derwent Valley. A wide choice of breakfast menu is offered.

We aim to cater for any specific dietary requirement, prior notice would be appreciated.

Kate extends her culinary skills acquired during her ownership of a busy restaurant, to evening meals at Holmefield. A refreshingly different menu is on offer with all dishes skillfully prepared using locally sourced fresh produce,(meat purchased from our local farm shop or Chatsworth farm shop)which reflected in the award for outstanding food presented to us by the AA

Guests are welcome to use the lounge anytime and there are ample books. local interest leaflets and games to occupy yourself with. Extensive DVD (all rooms have dvd players).

Complimentary pre-dinner drinks are available and fresh coffee is made each evening for guests to help themselves to.
