The Boar’s Head is a happy combination of village pub, first class restaurant and superb accommodation – a recipe that we feel really works.

You can come for a drink in congenial surroundings - we always have an interesting range of beers – enjoy a light bite from our imaginative and varied bar menu or a relaxed and leisurely meal in the restaurant. On top of that, there are our three delightful guest rooms.

Our three en-suite rooms have been designed with relaxation and comfort in mind. The furnishings are modern and light yet totally in keeping with the age of the building. Room One has a wonderfully luxurious bathroom – perfect for pampering yourself whilst Room Two has beautifully honey coloured beams exposed in the walls and ceiling which give a wonderful cosy atmosphere. Room Three is the largest of our rooms and has an adjoining sitting room with a sofa bed making it ideal for families or if you just want that extra space.

The Boar’s Head is the beautifully downland village of Ardington near the Oxfordshire/Berkshire border. Tucked away beside the church, it has been serving villagers and visitors for over 150 years.
Ardington and its twin village, Lockinge are in the beautifully maintained Lockinge Estate originally laid out by Lord Wantage in the 19th Century. The village has remained largely unspoiled while progress has seen the growth of a flourishing business community, housed in the original barns and outbuildings, which has served to maintain a thriving village.

Ardington is a wonderful base for walking or cycling with paths going directly up to the ancient Ridgeway a few miles away or winding through nearby downland villages. For golfers there are a number of excellent courses in the area and for those who enjoy fly-fishing, Ardington has a number of well-stocked trout lakes and day passes are readily available.

The Boars Head is ideally located, with Oxford under half an hour’s drove, Heathrow about an hour and the maineline station at Didcot only 15 minutes drive away.
