ACCOMODATION There are 6 charming bedrooms, which include 4 double rooms with ensuite facilities. There is one feature room with a four poster bed for a special occasion and all the bedrooms have been decorated in a country living style with many fine pieces of antique furniture. The village was once a thriving market town and this brought wealth and prosperity. This is reflected in the quality of a number of the medieval buildings. In the 19th century three industries grew and changed the population of Ashwell. They were brewing, coprolite digging and straw plaiting. There are many interesting buildings in Ashwell ranging from the museum, Fordham’s brewery, the Lychgate, Mills, the Church with the highest spire in Hertfordshire, chapels and houses of all ages and periods. There are many great walks around Ashwell and the surrounding countryside or you can venture further a field to the historical city of Cambridge and punt along the “backs” or indulge in a spot of shopping. Rates : From £39 to £79 per room per night based on 2 people sharing. Children are welcome. No smoking. Pets are allowed. Off street parking. Dinner is available. Wi-fi/internet access. 3 Star VB.
