The Hambledon Hotel, situated in Shanklin, on the picturesque Isle of Wight, is only yards away from the famous cliff path, which offers beautiful walks to both Ventnor and Sandown along the cliff tops. From here, there is also access to the safe and sandy Shanklin beaches below, via lift or path. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Shanklin Old Village and Shanklin Chine, as well as the shops of the main town. A private off road car park is available for all hotel guests. The hotel, open March to October, is a haven for families visiting the Isle of Wight during the summer season and equally popular with walkers in the Spring, Autumn and Winter. The hotel is one of only a few in Shanklin to offer a choice between bed and breakfast accommodation, and half board accommodation. Our customers enjoy excellent food and hospitality, and many of our visitors return year after year and we welcome them back as friends. Medlars is a stone built country house offering a very high standard of bed and breakfast accommodation near Yarmouth and Newport, the island's county town This lovely rural location in the western corner of the Isle of Wight is a haven of peace and quiet, within a short walk of the ferry link from Yarmouth to Lymington at the foot of the New Forest National Park. Guests can be collected from the ferry terminal as they arrive on the island, and this is a welcome option for visitors travelling without their own car. There are many varied walks and cycle tracks to discover on the Isle of Wight, so exploring on foot or by bike has been a popular way to spend a holiday here since the Victorian era. There is a choice of two very comfortable bedrooms, one with a 4-poster double bed and garden views, the other with either a double or twin beds (plus an extra single if required) overlooking the surrounding countryside. A hearty breakfast is served every morning - the ever popular Full English Breakfast is available, as is a Continental style breakfast selection. Normal breakfast time is 8am until 9am, but other times can be arranged (ideal for sailors or ferry passengers who need to make an early start to the day).
