Sunacre B&B offers spacious and comfortable B&B accommodation that is situated just outside of Chale on the Isle of Wight. Our bed and breakfast provides perfectly situated guest accommodation for those who are walking the island, enjoying a weekend break or as a retreat from the rat race of main life on the mainland. As well as bed and breakfast accommodation we also have a flying school and tandem flight centre! We have 2 upstairs guest rooms for bed and breakfast; the St Catherine's room which looks over the east side of our flight school, the badger set and a heavy horse meadow and our Cherbourg room with its stupendous view of the channel and cliffs. We also have a B&B room available on the ground floor called the Villager room. This might suit visitors with wheeled mobility issues; we have access ramps where necessary for easy rolling. There are also some options for those who want to camp, we recently installed an extra al fresco camping washroom loo with solar lighting. Alternately, why not stay in 1 of our glamping tipis. The Tipis are a delight, somehow these structures have a presence beyond the simple poles and fabric, they seem to be part of the environment and just charm away the cares of 21st century busyness. It is called Bobo Glamping apparently and its great fun. They are furnished with handmade pillows bedrolls and soft quilts, little tables and coir matting so it’s all cosy and comfortable. Breakfast is served each morning in our conservatory which has wonderful views overlooking the channel and our take off area. Butterfly Paragliding, the flying school and tandem flight centre, with its simulator, paramotor and paraglider shop is on site in a separate building. If the wind is not suitable for hill soaring, we can use the winch for tow launch training and tandem flights. Our bed and breakfast is nestled within The Needles Headland and Tennyson Down which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For those who prefer to keep their feet on the floor there are many attractions within the area to enjoy and plenty of walks with stunning views, many starting from our bed and breakfast. We also have a private adventure trail leads down to a very secluded beach. The surrounding countryside is abundant with wildlife and flora which populates the extraordinary landscape; badgers, foxes, pheasant, partridge, kestrels, buzzards, doves, cats, dogs, rabbits, gulls and peregrine falcons are seen on a daily basis! For more information please visit our website. Rates: From £45 per person per night. From £50 - £70 per room per night based on 2 sharing. Prices are dependant on time of year. Excellent location within easy walking distance of town, shops & seafront. Pool table. Superbly situated beside the sparkling waters of Sandown Bay, the twin resorts of Sandown and Shanklin have delighted generations of holiday makers for over 150 years. Early Victorian visitors were so captivated by the magnificent bay and sheltered golden sands that within a few decades the sparsely populated community of Sandown saw an explosion of investment and development, culminating in the opening of the railway line from Ryde in 1864. The Victorians laid out the broad seafront promenades and beautiful parks and gardens. They built fine town and country villas, many of which have been converted into hotels and apartments. The cliff top path offers a wonderful walk, with panoramic views of the bay and continues all the way to Shanklin, passing Lake, which has its own railway station, hotels, guest houses, shops and water sports centre. Sandown seafront is just yards from the town’s shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, with easy level walking along the broad promenades and sea wall. Safe bathing and a mild climate with consistently high placing in the U.K’s sunshine records provide the essential ingredients for a summer holiday. You will find deckchairs, beach huts, water sports and the pier, which dates from 1879 and now provides all weather amusements and the opportunity to walk out over the sea, which is just as exciting for today’s visitors as it was to the Victorians. Along Culver Parade you’ll find tennis, bowls, crazy golf, a pitch and putt course, the Tiger Sanctuary and Dinosaur Isle Museum. At the southern end of town the Heights Health and Leisure Base has indoor swimming pools and further inland is a fine 18 hole golf course. Sandown Carnival in July is the Island’s first of the season, the Regatta and illuminated Carnival are in August. Just two miles inland from Sandown is the historic Kyngs Towne of Brading, with its Norman Church, manor houses of Morton and Nunwell, 3rd century Roman Villa and ancient cottages housing museums, craft shops and tea rooms.
