Tudor Cottage is situated in the heart of Biddenden village, surrounded by the beauty of the Kentish Wealden countryside. The High Street, itself described as "very short and very perfect", is lined with timber-framed houses. Built at a time when Biddenden was the centre of a rich woollen and weaving community, it is watched over by the Church of "All Saints", which has its origins in the thirteenth century, the clock being added in 1878. The unique village sign shows the famous "Biddenden Maids", siamese twins born around 1100 A.D. and who survived for thirty years. The "Bread and Cheese" charity founded by them is still in existence at the present time. Biddenden is an ideal location from which to visit the various castles, historic homes and gardens of interest and splendour. Routes to these places pass through the new and expanding development of Kentish vineyards. Standing attractively in the High Street, Tudor Cottage combines the character of the period with modern comfort and amenities. Below its dark and ageing beams and hung tile roof also known locally as a "Cat-slide roof" are the benefits of central heating and double glazing, together with tasteful furnishings throughout. There are just 3 bedrooms on the first floor, all with private bathrooms (2 en-suite). All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, and colour T.V. Rates: From £45 to £65 single occupancy. From £50 to £65 per room per night based on 2 people sharing. Children are welcome. No smoking. Sorry, no pets. Off street parking. Wi-fi/internet access. 4 Star VB.
