Lodge of Finlarig is approximately 30 miles south of Inverness and just over 60 miles north of Pitlochry. Our village has a post office/shop and a garage for motor repairs. Guests wake each morning to the choice of either a Continental or Full Scottish Breakfast. The sitting room with its commanding views over Strathspey has a log burning stove, Sky TV and a music centre. There is a secluded patio with tables and chairs where you can enjoy the warmer days - we do not have midges! The cell phone signals are excellent and we have free WiFi! We can serve delicious home cooked dinners by arrangement - please discuss at time of booking. Evening meals are available at the Riverside Restaurant, Tigh na Sgiath and the Finlarig Restaurant at Muckrach Lodge in the village. There are several more restaurants in Grantown and Boat of Garten. Strathspey is the valley of the River Spey with its source in the central highlands. It passes the Cairngorm Mountains, the main centre for Scottish winter sports and on to the famous whisky distilling area. Lodge of Finlarig is in the Cairngorms National Park. Dulnain Bridge village is close to the A95 Aviemore to Keith road and within the Cairngorms National Park. It is comprised of two communities, Dulnain Bridge itself and the crofting community of Skye-of-Curr which stretches for about a mile to the south, terminating at the Speyside Heather Centre. The surrounding forests of mature Caledonian Pines contain many rare and interesting species. The bird list is headed by the endangered Capercaillie which are regularly seen. There are Scottish Crossbills, the small but beautiful Crested Tit, Buzzards, Eagles, and of course Ospreys. The Red Squirrel is very much at home here!
