Wroxham is one of Norfolk's popular places to visit often described as the 'capital of Norfolk Broads' situated on the A1151 just seven miles from Norwich and close to Norfolk's wild and often virtually empty beaches. Visit Wroxham Barns with its craft shops and animal farm, travel on the Bure Valley steam railway, visit Roys famous stores (claimed to be the biggest village store in the world). Wroxham makes the perfect base for exploring North Norfolk with its nature reserves, stately homes, unspoilt beaches, bird watching, fishing, golf, steam railways, market towns and quaint villages with old flint buildings and not forgetting the north Suffolk broads. Norwich, easily reached by car, train or bus has all the charm of a small city with a daily market, cathedral, famed castle museum and shops big and small whilst the lively seaside resort of Great Yarmouth is only 18 miles away. Mill Cottage is situated opposite Pretty Corner Woods on the main A148 five miles from Holt and Cromer, with the fishing village of Sheringham just one and a half miles down the hill past the woods. Thus situated gives the visitor easy access to the whole of the North Norfolk Coast. Mill Cottage, once farm workers homes was built in 1822 and extended in 1895 to become the large cottage. A working Mill built in 1575 stood in the grounds and was in use daily. Converted to steam power in 1912 and falling out of use in the late 1920's. All traces have now vanished within the grounds consisting of nearly one acre. Restoration of the Cottage has taken place within the last few years. Ancient and modern having been blended to retain character charm and comfort. Log fires, wood burner and central heating together with low ceilings and 14 inch thick flint walls and pine and oak beams. Original latch doors complete the picture.
