Wroxham is one of Norfolk's popular places to visit often described as the 'capital of Norfolk Broads' situated on the A1151 just seven miles from Norwich and close to Norfolk's wild and often virtually empty beaches. Our tastefully furnished rooms are en-suite, include a colour TV, radio alarm clock, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, shaver point and central heating. Guests can be met, by arrangement at Hoveton and Wroxham railway station. We have ample private parking and cycle storage. After a comfortable nights stay, we have the characterful dining room where our varied breakfast menu is served which includes our praised hearty full English breakfast. We have a lovely garden where guests can look round or sit on the patio and enjoy a quiet drink. A visit to Wroxham can take many forms; You can hire a boat by the hour/day or take a trip on the licensed public trips to explore the beautiful broads. Visit Wroxham Barns with its craft shops and animal farm, travel on the Bure Valley steam railway, visit Roys famous stores (claimed to be the biggest village store in the world). Wroxham makes the perfect base for exploring North Norfolk with its nature reserves, stately homes, unspoilt beaches, bird watching, fishing, golf, steam railways, market towns and quaint villages with old flint buildings and not forgetting the north Suffolk broads. Norwich, easily reached by car, train or bus has all the charm of a small city with a daily market, cathedral, famed castle museum and shops big and small whilst the lively seaside resort of Great Yarmouth is only 18 miles away. Why not leave the car with us? We offer private, off-road car parking. Hire a bike or take a stroll on the Bure Valley car free path to the Market town of Aylsham. Regular trains go to the coastal resorts of Cromer and Sheringham as well as Norwich. For eating out Hoveton/Wroxham and the surrounding area has a good selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes. Mill Cottage is situated opposite Pretty Corner Woods on the main A148 five miles from Holt and Cromer, with the fishing village of Sheringham just one and a half miles down the hill past the woods. Thus situated gives the visitor easy access to the whole of the North Norfolk Coast. Mill Cottage, once farm workers homes was built in 1822 and extended in 1895 to become the large cottage. A working Mill built in 1575 stood in the grounds and was in use daily. Converted to steam power in 1912 and falling out of use in the late 1920's. All traces have now vanished within the grounds consisting of nearly one acre. Restoration of the Cottage has taken place within the last few years. Ancient and modern having been blended to retain character charm and comfort. Log fires, wood burner and central heating together with low ceilings and 14 inch thick flint walls and pine and oak beams. Original latch doors complete the picture. The En Suite Double Room has a King size wrought iron bed, walk in power shower, Victorian Roll Top Bath, Hand Basin and Toilet. Lower Green Farmhouse tucked away in beautiful North Norfolk is one of the oldest houses in Hindringham, parts of which date back to 1600 and is part of a working farm. We offer a double or twin bedded room with own coffee/tea making facilities with a selection of herbal, green, Earl Grey and Breakfast tea, hot chocolate, malted milk and coffee. Homemade biscuits are always provided in the room. Your own sitting-room offers a comfortable place to relax and read or watch television and can also provide sleeping arrangements for an extra guest. A hairdryer, radio and alarm clock are provided in the room. Bathrobes are also available. Guests are welcome to sit in the comfortable dining-room while they await breakfast or enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. After dinner feel free to relax over coffee before retiring. In the winter you can relax by the log fire. Travel cots can be provided - please book in advance and bring your own babies bedding for his/her comfort. Breakfast: We try hard to cater for all tastes using local ingredients wherever possible. If you have a special diet i.e. vegetarian please let us know when booking.
