The Devonport Hotel is a country house hotel run as a family business by Julia Ellwood, the proprietor,& Chris Mills, company secretary.

Julia is well known in the area with over 24 years experience in catering management. The couple took over the hotel in June 2004 & have created a beautiful development of 16 bedrooms, all of which are en suite.

There is a top class fine dining restaurant for both residents & public use.

An accompanying lounge bar provides further high class bar food to go with cask ales & an extensive choice of wine, liqueurs & spirits.

In addition there is a “locals” bar with the same range of food & drink with TV.

There are also outdoor tables on the front overlooking the River Tees & beautiful unspoilt countryside, & at the rear there is a substantial sized patio area.

The Devonport Hotel underwent a comprehensive refurbishment programme during 2004 upgrading all bedrooms, converting the restaurant with an exclusive design change adding beautiful furniture & also completely re-building the kitchen adding full modern facilities to produce the best cuisine.

Facilities are available for functions such as christenings, weddings, lectures, meetings or club style meals which can be arranged in any of 3 function areas.

There are 2 private rooms for up to 40 people or the restaurant area can be segregated for privacy.

The lounge bar is warm & welcoming with the capacity to seat 54 at any one time, & the same number outside weather permitting!

Reasonably priced bar meals are popular whether a quick snack or a more relaxed 3 course meal.
