A Victorian Country house, originally built in 1664, offering superb breakfasts and evening meals. Centrally located in this beautiful Malhamdale Village amidst stunning scenery, with the Pennine way and other walking and cycling routes running just past the front door. A warm welcome awaits you on your arrival.

River House has recently been awarded a 4 Star rating by the AA and an AA egg cup award for an outstanding breakfast.

Wireless broadband internet connection is available in all bedrooms and the lounge bar area of River House.

Today River house combines modern facilities with period elegance all 8 bedrooms are en-suite, 2 with baths and showers the other 6 have showers some with power showers.

The Bedrooms:
Some of our lovely bedrooms have stunning views of the dales. All bedrooms are no-smoking, as is all of river house. Our ground floor twin room is ideal for easy access for the less able walkers. All en-suites have heated towel rails. Luxury complimentary toiletries in all en-suite by “Scottish fine soaps”. All our bed rooms have colour TV's, tea and coffee making facilities. Wireless internet connection available in all bed rooms.

A good range of luxury Scottish fine soaps item and gifts are available to buy at reception, from our display cabinet, for your stay with us or even for taking home. Big fluffy towels can be found in your bathroom's or shower room's.

Rooms 9 & 10 are our room's which we allow 1 dog in per room, for a small extra charge of £5.00, so you can bring your best friend with you to stay with us.

Breakfast:
On our breakfast table you can choose each morning from fruit compote, yoghurt, fresh juice’s, cereals and sliced fresh fruit, followed by the Yorkshire dales breakfast, or fish if you prefer, that is cooked to order, all made from local produce where possible. Menu down load is available from the food page. We even have our own chickens now for eggs.

Dinner:
Is available on Tuesday to Saturday in our restaurant. We have a 2 or 3 course dinner menu,. All dietary requirements catered for, just enquire and let us know when booking.

Packed lunches:
Are available to keep you going through the day.

Drying room/ laundry:
For guest returning from the hill there is a drying room to hang wet cloths and boots in. Laundry wash room available (for a small charge) just ask when you are booking your rooms, or on your arrival with us.

Secure bike storage:
For the more energetic ones on site there is over night bike storage, should you arrive on a bike or bring one with you to use. Bike hire is available locally.

Where to relax:
Cosy snug area where you will find all the reading material on walks on the area of Malhamdale, and in the Yorkshire dales. Board and card games can be found in this area of the house. The lounge bar is a delightful place to return to each evening, with a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings, lots of new world wines can be found on our wine list, see the wine list down load on the food and drinks page for more information. Wireless broad band connections are available in all areas of the house. Guests are provided with their own key so they can come and go as they please.

We accept dogs in 2 of our bedrooms a twin room and a double room at a cost of £5.00 per dog by prior arrangement only. We only accept children over the age of 9.

Rates : £37.50 per person per night. £75 per room per night based on 2 people sharing.
