We offer you a warm welcome at Amble House, a small Victorian Guest House built in 1896 of traditional Lakeland slate and occupying a quiet location in the market town of Keswick on Derwentwater, providing an excellent standard of non-smoking bed and breakfast accommodation all year round.
Our centrally heated double, twin and single rooms have en-suite facilities and are furnished to a high standard with cleanliness and comfort a priority. They are well equipped with remote controlled colour TV, radio alarm clocks, hairdryers, tea & coffee making facilities.
We offer a selection of magazines, walking books and maps for you to browse through and a daily weather forecast to help you plan your day. We provide drying facilities for wet outer clothing and footwear. Secure cycle storage is available.
Our hearty traditional or vegetarian breakfasts are the perfect way to start the day, whether fell walking, cycling, touring or cruising on the lake. Packed lunches are available and are freshly prepared each day. Special diets are catered for with prior arrangement.
The traditional market town of Keswick has something to interest everyone - Castlerigg Stone Circle, a Museum and Art Gallery, Theatre and Cinema, Pencil Mill Museum, beautiful parks and a wide variety of shops.
Keswick is renowned as a centre for outdoor pursuits - simply ask any climbing or walking enthusiast. The district abounds with nature trails, town and country walks, forest tracks or go rambling on the fells. Keswick is also perfectly placed to visit Carlisle and the Border Country with Hadrian's Wall.
