A warm welcome to The Tankerville Arms Hotel website. Built in the 1600’s as a coaching inn, the Tankerville Arms has been welcoming visitors for 400 years now (We are getting quite good at it!). The Tankerville is a privately owned hotel and has been in the Park family for over 30 years. We have 16 Delightfully appointed and immaculately decorated bedrooms. The 16 ensuite bedrooms offer comfort and excellent facilities to ensure that you enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep to prepare you for your next day. As befits an old building, the fact that no two rooms are the same adds to the charm of the hotel and whilst standards are superb throughout, the lack of a corporate feel is for many a real pleasure. The elegant Cheviot Restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere overlooking our lovely gardens. The restaurant is run by Ashley, our first class Chef, and his wife. Using fresh local produce that is in season, and produced within a few miles of the hotel, they create the very best of Northumbrian fayre for the visitor to enjoy – the hugely popular Sunday lunches for example are a testament to this. Beef from Glendale Livestock, Lamb from Bill Moore in the Till Valley, fresh fish from Amble (when not caught by a guest or even Ashley himself), cheese and ice cream from the award winning Doddington Dairies just down the road… You will taste the difference! You can also dine in the Chillingham Room which adjoins the Copper Bar where you can meet and mix with the other guests. For the lover of the great outdoors, Northumberland really does have it all. For the walkers we are literally on the doorstep of the Northumberland National Park with mile upon mile of spectacular well marked routes where you have more chance meeting a deer than another person!
