Railston House, (very commonly miss-spelled Railstone) was built in the late Georgian period, circa 1820 and takes its name from the original owner John Railston who had it built. The Railstons' were a well know family in the area, They owned many properties in North Sunderland and Seahouses and obtained their wealth from buying and selling seed corn. Yellow Room: This spacious double overlooks the walled garden and a view out towards the Golf Course and the Sea this also has ensuite shower, toilet and wash hand basin. All our rooms are fitted with internal wooden shutters to keep out the early morning sun in summer and the cold in winter, always a bonus even though we have oilfired central heating. Pink Room: This double is ensuite with shower, toilet & wash hand basin and a view out towards Bamburgh Castle. T.V. and tea making facilities. Blue Room: This delightful twin room is on the ground floor, ideal for the guests not wishing to climb stairs, it has ensuite shower, toilet and wash hand basin also T.V. and tea making facilities. The dining room, and conservatory which can be used by guests as a lounge, are situated on the garden or south side of the house. During the summer they are flooded with sunshine for most of the day. Seahouses with its harbour harbour is only a few minutes walk away, offering a variety of food and drink in various styles of public house and restaurants an ideal way to to end a perfect day on the Northumberland coast. The more adventurous guest may wish to take the 2 mile drive north to Bamburgh or south to Beadnell where either village has a variety of food on offer. Within 30 minutes drive is Berwick to the north and Alnwick to the south, Wooler lies to the west and offers a gateway to the Cheviot hills. Seahouses and North Sunderland offer easy access to the Northumberland Heritage coast including the Farne Islands as well as the countryside; Northumberland has it all! Inside the décor is of a quality feel, with slate floors and stone walls in the restaurant. Upstairs, the 4 star B and B has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and the 4 en-suite rooms are all very comfortable. There is a small outside eating area for Al Fresco dining, which is a lovely place to sit and gaze into the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. The bar provides home cooked traditional dishes, such as the popular Steak and ale pie. The bar is well stocked and carries two real ales from the local Wylam Brewery, which was awarded the prestigious Champion Beer at the 2001 CAMRA Newcastle Beer Festival. We also have a snooker table in the bar and a TV near the fireplace. There is also a games area, which plays host to quiz nights, special offer nights and the occasional live music. We hold shows every August which includes all kinds of country contests including Northumberland music, Tug of War, Bee Keeping, Pony Riding, etc. A great day out for the kids! And for the OAPs, we have OAP Specials every Monday to Friday from 12pm to 2pm. We have recently appointed a new Head Chef - Mark Summerscales previously of Otterburn Hall and Matfen Hall. Tower House is a Grade II listed building circa 1752 situated in the heart of Warkworth Village. Warkworth Village is situated approximately seven miles south of Alnwick and is in an ideal position for touring the stunning Northumberland coastline with its numerous beaches and the magnificent countryside with its natural beauty. Whether you enjoy walking, cycling or just driving you will find something of interest in Northumberland to suit all ages. In Warkworth itself there are a good selection of restaurants and public houses where after a long day of touring the sights of Northumberland you can relax and enjoy a meal with possibly a glass or two of what you fancy and join in the conversation with the locals... If you decide to spend a day in Warkworth itself there are a number of different walks around the village, either down by the River Coquet which loops Warkworth Village or maybe you would prefer to walk the short distance to our lovely beach just past the local golf club, you could even take the short boat journey across the River Coquet to the Hermitage which is a chapel directly cut out of the rock which dates back to 1400 where legend has it a knight disappointed in love retired from this world to the chapel. Warkworth Village has quite a few interesting shops where you may purchase either local artwork, jewellery or curiosities to remind you of your stay in Northumberland. Margaret and Chris have been in the hospitality business for quite a while, they had their own public house in the pretty village of Lesbury which is next to Alnmouth Village three miles north of Warkworth for eleven years and will be more than happy to advise you of local attractions and events in Northumberland. A warm Northumbrian welcome awaits you at our lovely Georgian home. Why stay in a hotel when you can have that personal touch that delivers four star quality. We have two double bedrooms at Tower House. Bedroom 1 is a double room with its own en-suite shower room, bedroom 2 has a king size bed and has its own private bathroom with bath and shower. This room has direct views overlooking the north aspect of Warkworth Castle. Our bedrooms retain some original features such as attractive fireplaces and shutters on the sash windows. They are both tastefully decorated. Both bedrooms have tea and coffee facilities, complimentary biscuits, chocolates, crisps and fresh fruit.
