Merlin's B&B, Corwen, Denbighshire

Merlin's situated just 300 yards from Llandrillo village centre on Berwyn Street, nestling in the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains. Ideally placed for the keen walker, as Berwyn Street leads directly onto the Berwyn mountain range.

Across the road the river Ceidiog passes on its lazy journey to the river Dee and adds a relaxing atmosphere on a hazy summer evening.

Water based activities including canoeing, rafting and windsurfing are available in Bala just 9 miles away.

For the less energetic there are numerous places of interest and quaint seaside towns to visit:
Barmouth with its beautiful golden sands.
Llandudno: The Great Orme and Victorian shops.
Chester: Elizabethan Shops and Zoo
Also: Slate mines, Gold Mines, mountain railways, museums, Ruthin gaol, Lake Vyrnwy, wildlife reserve and many more.

Breakfast is served from 7am until 9am in the spacious dining room overlooking the colourful garden and forested hills beyond.

Packed lunches are available on request.

Evening meals are not available at Merlin's but The Berwyn restaurant is a mere 200 yards away offering a fine and varied menu expertly cooked and presented by Ivor.

Or why not join the locals in the Dudley Arms, recently visited by Prince Charles and only five minutes walk from Merlin's. A good selection of pub food is available and no need for a taxi home.

Take away option, traditional fish and chips can be purchased in the next village, Cynwyd only five minutes drive away. The Chippy is open from Wednesday till Saturday or alternatively sample Som's Thai Takeaway from Llandrillo village shop.

Either can be enjoyed in the dining room at Merlin's or Al fresco in the garden.

There are two letting bedrooms, both situated on the ground floor.

Sky TV is connected in the lounge if you cannot bear to miss your favourite soaps while away from home; various board games are available as a way to relax after a busy days walking or sightseeing.

Or just sit in the garden and watch the many species of resident and visiting birds.
