Whitchester Christian Centre, Hawick, Scottish Borders

Whitchester Christian Centre exists to provide a place of rest and refreshment for the whole person within a Christian environment. Visitscotland 3 star and Green Tourism Silver, this country house set with 3 acres of garden and woodland, is within easy access of the Border town of Hawick.

It is an ideal base to explore the lovely countryside of the Scottish Borders. The surrounding area is full of historic sites and the house is within 3/4 hour drive of Bowhill, Floors or Abbotsford, as are the various Border Abbeys.There is beautiful scenery with a diversity of bird and animal life and walks of varying difficulty.

When the weather is less favourable, or you are looking for a quieter holiday, relax in the peaceful ambience of the house with its extensive library and a log fire in winter. Our meals are home cooked, using home grown or local produce where possible, and having a vegetarian option. We are able to cater for other diets with prior notice.

Our accommodation is a variety of single, twin or double rooms with two of the rooms in our annexe especially suited to those with disabilities, as is our only ground floor single room. We offer a variety of tariffs from bed and breakfast to full board.

Well behaved pets are welcome but, other than guide dogs, not allowed in the main areas i.e. dining room and lounge. As small charge is made where pets stay overnight in their owners' room.

We have morning and evening devotions in our small chapel to which guests are welcome.
