Nestling in the Border hills is Hartleap – a peaceful and secluded 150 year old cottage renovated to a high standard of comfort and style. Here you will find a rural retreat offering tranquillity and luxury in stunning surroundings. With just one double room for guests you can be assured of exclusive and personal attention from your hosts, Lindsay and Kevin. Their aim is to make your stay as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, whether you want to have an activity break, explore the local sights or simply stroll around the garden. Despite its ‘miles from anywhere’ feel Hartleap is only one hour’s drive from Edinburgh and its many attractions.
The en suite bedroom with views across the garden to sheep dotted hills has organic bed linen and complimentary toiletries. The bedroom also has I-Pod dock, hairdryer and tea and coffee tray. There is also an elegantly furnished sitting room for guests to unwind after a long day, with satellite TV, music, books and a log fire if it’s chilly. With an emphasis on organic produce and home cooking meals are a highlight of the Hartleap experience. A lavish breakfast is freshly prepared to suit all tastes and is served in the dining room. Evening meals can be provided with prior notice – from a light two-course supper to a candle lit dinner – and feature vegetarian and fish dishes cooked with flair allowing the quality of the seasonal ingredients from our organic kitchen garden to be fully appreciated.
Hartleap offers a truly unrivalled location from which to enjoy all the Borders has to offer. There is an extensive garden with stream and hillside walks and some of the best on and off-road cycling and hill walking in Southern Scotland is on the doorstep. Visitors from all over the world, and closer to home, have found their way here and invariably leave with a promise to return!
