Woodlands Farm is for those who like peace & quiet together with a good nights sleep and an excellent breakfast (evening meal optional; many pubs etc. locally if required) and the beauty of the countryside - you won't do much better than a stay with us at our bed & breakfast accommodation in Burwash Weald, near Etchingham in East Sussex.
The house is 16th century (modernised) standing one third of a mile off the road, surrounded by fields and ancient woodland - an absolute beauty at bluebell time!
We are well situated for both coast enjoyment, being 20 minutess to half an hour from Rye, Winchelsea, Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton or Tunbridge Wells, Tenterden, Battle.
There are many places of interest within easy reach: Alfriston Clergy House and the delightful ancient village and downs at Alfriston, Arundel Castle, Berwick Church with its many paintings by the Bloomsbury Group, Batemans (home of Rudjard Kipling in Burwash)Battle 1066, Bodium Castle, Charleston Farmhouse, Chartwell, Filching Manor, Firle Place, Glyndebourne Opera House, Gt. Dixter, Hever Castle, Sheffield Place Gardens, singleton Museum of ancient buildings, Sissinghurst, Leonardslee Gardens, Michelham priory, Newick Place, Nymans Gardens, Petworth, Royal Pavilion Brighton, Standen, Uppark, Wakehurst Place gardens…….and many more!
You can also take a day trip to London by train from Etchingham.
Rates : £40 per person per night. £65 per room per night for an ensuite room based on 2 people sharing. Family room £65 + £15 per child.
