The Cottage, Rushlake Green, Heathfield, West Sussex

A warm, friendly welcome and elegant, comfortable accommodation await you at The Cottage. Our 16th century family home overlooks the village green in Rushlake Green, a tiny picturesque village set in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex.

Whether you are coming for a short break, two week holiday or a family event, we pride ourselves that we will provide a relaxing and luxurious stay.

Our guests are accommodated in beautiful double rooms with full en-suite facilities. Both have pretty antique beds, one a four- poster. Every home comfort is provided: colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, sherry and homemade biscuits, mineral water, hair dryer and robes.

Guests have exclusive use of a pretty drawing room with views of the garden and village green. This room has colour television, video player, books and games. You are welcome to sit and relax in our large tranquil garden.

A full English or Continental breakfast is provided, AGA-cooked and using locally grown organic produce wherever possible.

Simple meals (picnics or dinner) available by special arrangement, or bring home a takeaway and use our dining room!

Special facilities available for cyclists and walkers, including secure storage for bikes and facilities for drying clothes.

The Cottage is just 200 yards from the village pub, renowned for its fine food. Other charming country pubs are close by -we would be delighted to make reservations for you.

The Cottage is an ideally situated country retreat, within 30 minutes drive for visiting stunning National Trust properties, such as Rudyard Kipling's home Batemans, Bodiam Castle, Alfriston Clergy House. Ightham Mote and Knole are slightly further afield the world famous gardens at Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Pashley Manor, Sheffield Park, Scotney Castle and Merriments the South Downs and Ashdown Forest for wonderful walks, as well as a network of local footpaths
Glyndeboume Opera. We can usually arrange tickets and transport
the historic, channing towns of Brighton, Tunbridge Wells, Battle, Hastings, and Rye. The Channel Tunnel, Dover, Gatwick and Heathrow are within easy reach making The Cottage an ideal touring base. Ample Parking.
