St Vincent House Hotel & Restaurant, Lynton, Devon

Welcome to St. Vincent House and Restaurant, an atmospheric Exmoor guesthouse where Lin and Jean-Paul invite you to enjoy their unique blend of English hospitality & Continental flair in the warmth of their Georgian grade 2 listed home. The hotel has comfortable spacious bedrooms, 6 en-suite, and all rooms are individually styled, some with antiques.

The house is conveniently located in Lynton Old Town, with a secluded sunny garden where our guests are welcome to relax. Lynton is the ideal location for walking, cycling and touring Exmoor and the magnificent North Devon Coast. We are only 200 yards from the coastal path and the famous cliff railway.

At the guest house an restaurant we pride ourselves on our creative cuisine and cater for all dietary needs. You can start with a hearty breakfast and, after a day of touring, relax and enjoy a wonderful meal chosen from the à la Carte menu, served in our elegant restaurant. After dinner, coffee is served in our cosy lounge with an open fire to welcome you on chilly evenings. We also have a wealth of books and maps for you to browse at your leisure.

The house and restaurant are decorated throughout in a modern style, but with a traditional ambience. All our comfortable bedrooms are en-suite with newly fitted bathrooms. Some are twins and some with King and Super kingsize beds, all with free wi-fi broadband and complimentary Sherry, tea and coffee.

The house was built in 1834 by Captain Thomas Green, a master mariner, from prize monies he received when fighting alongside Nelson at the Battle of St. Vincent (off the west coast of Portugal). All rooms are named after the victorious battleships. The hotel retains many original features including a beautiful Regency spiral staircase.

The bedrooms are all named after battleships from Nelson's fleet - Cullodun, Colossus, Orion, Blenheim, Prince George, Irresistible and Victory.

We encourage our visitors to feel welcome in the hotel and use the lounge for relaxing and maybe meeting other guests.

Our beautiful garden, full of scents, birds and colours, will help you to relax at lunch and in the afternoons. We will be delighted to spoil you with a Devon cream tea or you may prefer to choose from our small - but delicious - range of Spanish tapas.

There are many outdoor pursuits to be enjoyed in the area, including river and sea fishing, horse riding, boat trips and bird watching. Also available nearby are tennis, bowls, golf and putting.
