Crosskeys House, Broadwindsor, Beaminster, Dorset

Crosskeys House is a Listed Grade II historic building set in the tranquil village of Broadwindsor, just two and a half miles from Beaminster, in the exquisitely beautiful west Dorset. This interesting house, which stands on a site once occupied by a pub, a cobbler's shop and a blacksmith, has been recently extensively refurbished to provide an exceptionally high standard of comfort. The whole building is fully centrally heated and we have been awarded a 5 Star Silver Award status issued by Quality in Tourism.

The guest bedrooms have recently been entirely renovated to provide a very high standard of comfort. The beds can be made up as either super king size doubles or arranged as twins. Each room has full central heating with thermostatically regulated radiators for precise temperature control and fans are provided in warm conditions. All are equipped with a large flatscreen television with 'Freeview', a radio/alarm clock, a hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities and a generous fridge for keeping drinks cool. In addition, there is a selection of magazines and books.

The en-suite bathrooms have been carefully prepared and feature baths. The Green bathroom is provided with a hair washing showerhead and the Blue bathroom has a shower over the bath. We pride ourselves on our large fluffy towels and face flannels.

There are facilities for drying clothes and we are glad to make ironing facilities available as well as a trouser press for those who like perfect creases!

For those who wish to keep in touch with the outside world, we are happy to send and receive a modest number e-mails. WIFI connection to the internet is provided free of charge.

The White Lion pub, a mere 200 paces away in the centre of the village, serves a range of ales as well as really delicious modestly priced food. Nearby Beaminster (Thomas Hardy's "Emminster") features several good and one exceptional restaurant. Cast the net a little further to Bridport and West Bay and the eating opportunities are endless.

Crosskeys House is an outstanding base from which to explore west Dorset and the surrounding area. It is close to important historic buildings and sites, fascinating towns and villages with a huge variety of shops as well as the world famous Jurassic Coast. For the energetic, golf, horse riding, sailing, swimming, ballooning and even walking with llamas are all usually available. We will be delighted to investigate any other special interest you may have.
