Gringley Hall is a high quality licensed bed & breakfast/guesthouse establishment situated in one of the most picturesque villages in North Nottinghamshire, close to Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest and The Dukeries. The Hall, built in the early 1800's by the Duke of Portland, was also a childrens convalescent home in the first part of the 1900's, the story of which is delightfully described in the book 'Lemon Curd and Grandfather's Whiskers' by John Clubley. The Hall has delightful reception rooms with spacious comfortable bedrooms all with kingsize bed and en-suite private bathrooms, TV, radio and tea/coffee making facilities. Dulce & Ian Threlfall have been welcoming guests into their home since 1999 and have built a well-deserved reputation for their hospitality, cuisine and excellent accommodation. 2 of the rooms can be converted into a family suite sleeping up to 5. All 4 rooms have king size beds. All rooms can be converted into twin rooms if required. Breakfast is an experience not to be missed - delicious fresh fruits and fruit juices, organically produced bacon, sausage and eggs. Also available are home made breads and preserves. Private dinner parties for up to 24 people can also be catered for, as can small conferences, business and training days. Kennels are available should you wish to bring your pet. Gringley Hall is located at the west end of Gringley on the Hill, opposite the vicarage and near the church (See map & directions). Load Brook Farm bed & breakfast was a row of farm worker's cottages dating back to the 18th century. In 1974 it was renovated into a large family house where B&B accommodation has been provided for the last 12 years. The hamlet of Load Brook is situated in the beautiful Peak District countryside on the Yorkshire/Derbyshire border to the west of Sheffield. Despite being only 6 miles from Sheffield city centre, its peaceful rural setting makes it the perfect location for people visiting the area who prefer an out of town location. Access to the Bed & Breakfast accommodation is via its own front door and staircase which ensures privacy at all times. Guests are given a front door key which allows them to come and go as they please. All the rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished in a traditional style with king-size beds in the double rooms. Every room has views across the fields and woodlands and has its own TV and tea/coffee making facilities and an en-suite/private bathroom. Breakfast is available at any time to suit and, on warm summer days, can be served outside in the walled garden. For those with a healthy appetite, a full English breakfast is available but all diets can be catered for. The local pub is in the nearby village of Dungworth and, within a 15 minute drive, there are many other country pubs - most of which serve excellent lunches and evening meals. The 'bright lights' of Sheffield with all its restaurants, theatres, bars and night clubs are only a short taxi ride away. Sheep and horses graze the fields around the house and the woods beyond are home to a wide variety of wildlife. A small lake close to the house is a haven for ducks, moorhens and other wildfowl. Most recently the right-hand end of the row has been converted into a self-contained 3 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage complete with its own kitchen/dining room and spacious sitting room which includes a log burning stove. With ample space for 6 people, it is available for self catering holiday lets and family B&B bookings. Rates : From £35 to £40 per person per night. From £55 to £60 per room per night based on 2 people sharing. Children are welcome. Smoking is permitted. Pets allowed. Parking available.
