Tan-y-fron B & B, Dolgellau, Gwynedd, Snowdonia

A warm welcome greets you in this traditional stone built house within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and only a few minutes walk from Dolgellau.

Tanyfron is on the edge of the old market town of Dolgellau (five minutes' walk to the cente). It stands in its own grounds with lovely views and gardens - we won the Wales in Bloom contest in 2000. It's peaceful, quiet and has plenty of private parking.

Accommodation : The accommodation is Welsh Tourist Board 4-star acredited Bed and Breakfast. It offers all en-suite rooms, centrally heated, with colour T.V., tea/coffee making facilities, fridges and hairdriers in every room. All rooms are decorated to a high standard, are a good size and have matching decor.

Breakfast : There are three options for breakfast served in the morning:
A hearty, cooked breakfast, a vegetarian option or a lighter, more continental style.

There is a laundry available for guests' use. Drying facilities for boots and outer garments are available on request. We have a lock up facility for a limited number of cycles.

When you arrive ready to enjoy your holidays you will find a wealth of activities, all within a 30 mile radius.


Easily accessible are Cader Idris, the second largest mountain in Wales -extremely close by - and surrounding mountains offering good walking. If it is the beach you want, then there are many lovely sandy beaches, the closest being just 9 miles away.

There are excellent facilities for fishing and bird watching. Spectacular views can be enjoyed by walking or pony trekking through the foothills of the Cader Idris.

You can visit nearby castles, slate mines and ancient sites, ride on the "great little trains of Wales" or just enjoy the breathtaking scenic beauty.
