The Borderers Guest House, Brecon, Powys

The Borderers Guest House is a former coaching inn dating from the 17th century, now offering comfortable accommodation within easy reach of the many attractions in the area.

All rooms have colour television, tea & coffee making facilities and all are en-suite or have their own private facilities. we are a completely no smoking establishment.

A number of the rooms are situated around the courtyard/car parking area and these offer easy access and quiet surroundings away from the street. AND we welcome pets in these rooms... subject to them being less than 1.2 metres in height and have a maximum of four legs, and a minimum of two!

We are ideally situated for exploring the beautiful brecon beacons national park and are within two minutes walk from the centre of brecon with its many attractions.

Some 200 metres away is the Welsh Regiment Museum housing many interesting artefacts and memorabillia in the Zulu war room. About the same distance away is brecon's stunning new theatre Brycheiniog located by the basin of the Brecon - Monmouth Canal. The Brecon Jazz Festival, held each August, attracts some of the biggest international stars and is considered to be one of the best in the world. (sorry, we have no rooms available for this event in 2007).

For those without transport, Brecon is adequately served by bus and coach services from Cardiff, Hereford and London.

There is a wealth of activities in the surrounding area including the brecon leisure centre which is very well equipped with ten-pin bowling lanes, swimming pools and gym. golf, pony-trekking, mountain bike hire and canal boat cruises can all be easily arranged locally.
