The Red Lion, Caersws, Powys

The Red Lion in Caersws is an excellent place to enjoy a quiet drink or meal. This cosy, traditional pub serves up real ales and good food. Dating back in parts to 1790, it began life as an alehouse, becoming fully licensed in the mid-1800s. Real fires and other traditional features add to the pub's relaxed ambience. The menu features favourites such as home-made pies (beef and ale, chicken and mushroom or beef and onion), home-made chilli, steaks and home-made curry, to name just a few selections. On Sundays there's a choice of traditional roasts. Accommodation is on hand in two en suite double guest bedrooms available all year round.

Owners Jayne and David, ably assisted by daughter Mandy and her husband Jim, offer all their guests a warm and genuine welcome. Fishing and clay-pigeon shooting can be arranged for guests.
