This is one of the loveliest parts of Mid-Wales to visit, and the King's Head provides the ideal base at Meifod, near Welshpool. Whether it is simply to enjoy a pub lunch, or to pause on one of the beautiful walks that many ramble through, or to break a journey, this old coaching inn can cater for any of your wants.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Relaxing in front of the open fire in the bar in winter or sitting outside in the sun in summer, you can enjoy a wide ranging menu of above average pub cuisine.There is a pool table and darts board, specialist play area for kids, and the pub has its own football team and ground. Dominoes are also popular with the pub team in the local league.

Five comfortable en suite double bedrooms are available for the travellers who want to put their feet up.

The five en suite bedrooms are all laid out comfortably with double beds, the décor intelligently merging with the period of the building. Televisions are discreetly housed in custom built cupboards.

Robert, your host, also caters for events both in and outside the pub. Weddings, birthdays, sporting celebrations or just an impromptu party, all are well within the capabilities of the King's Head. The staff are warm and friendly, wanting you to enjoy your time here, and open to suggestions and/or reasonable requests. There is a full bar menu available throughout the day, and a la carte served in the lounge/restaurant on an informal basis as and when required. But, be warned, the King's Head is very popular, so it is better to book well in advance.
