Minutes from Racing Sea Horses are countless beaches both sandy and pebble that offer young and old alike limitless opportunities for all interests both ashore and at sea. Sailing as a relaxing pastime as we know it today was begun in Chichester Harbour by Charles 11 (1630-1635) it was he who introduced the first leisure sailing craft into this countries waters; beginners can learn, experienced sailors can crew or hire and those with their own craft can launch. Surfing-wind surfing-kite sailing-canoeing-scuba diving even just swimming are only minutes away; many of our guests just come to relax and fish. Our French neighbours across the channel regularly visit to our beaches. Transport via our local buses are close by as are local hire shops for both bicycles and other sea equipment. For those of a curious nature, in a single day one can visit a Roman Palace not far from Petworth, Chichester Cathedral, Arundel Castle, home to the Duke of Norfolk and the first Catholic Cathedral built in this country since our break with Rome, a two thousand year span, in a single day. In the evening one can then relax at the Chichester Festival Theatre watching a new production perhaps on its way to the West End and then on to the USA and Broadway. A little further afield but again less than forty minutes away is Portsmouth with its famous shopping centre, a must for bargain hunters and the home of Nelsons flag ship Victory an historic site that is well worth the time and effort. Back to the beach and in-between the odd nap, looking over to the Isle of Wight, just to its left and not far out to sea, is where much of the battle of Trafalgar took place; how could you not come and join us for some local interest and lots of fun? In other words, see you soon! Rates: From £75 to £85 per room per night based on 2 people sharing. Children over 12 are welcome. No smoking. Sorry, no pets. Off street parking. Wi-fi/internet access.
