Gairloch View Guest House is set amidst the stunning Highland scenery of Wester Ross in the north west of Scotland, one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. Gairloch View Guest House has separate guest accommodation which was the subject of a major refurbishment in 2007 and which is now presented to a very high standard earning us a 4-star rating from the Scottish Tourist Board. We have 3 guest bedrooms, 2 of which have double beds whilst the third has twin beds. All 3 guest bedrooms are en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities. There is a separate guest dining room and guest lounge, both of which have large windows giving superb views across Loch Gairloch towards the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides. Outside, there is a pleasant patio area with seating, an excellent place to relax and take in the magnificent sea views. Breakfast is served in our guest dining room which has magnificent sea views across Loch Gairloch towards the Isle of Skye and the Western Isles. With this superb scenery as a backdrop you can enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast of your choice. We also offer evening meals and packed lunches by prior arrangement and can cater for special diets, also by prior arrangement. Gairloch is situated some 70 miles west of Inverness, on the west coast of Scotland overlooking the Isle of Skye. It offers a wide range of shops, unusually for a place so small and comparatively remote, these including an award winning butcher and a very cosy book shop where you can spend hours perusing books and enjoying a lovely cup of coffee. You will also find a wealth of gift shops and picture galleries at the harbour along with the local post office and a branch of the Bank of Scotland (which has an Autoteller cash machine). Gairloch has a varied choice of dining establishments which offer local and not so local fare, with real ales from both Scottish and English breweries and more single malt whiskies than you can imagine. Rates: From £37.50 to £50 per person per night. Children are welcome. No smoking. Sorry, no pets. Off street parking. Dinner available. Wi-Fi/internet access. 4 Star Visit Scotland.

The Sheiling is a very comfortable, modern home, which stands peacefully beside the shore of Loch Broom and enjoys fabulous views of the loch and mountains beyond. The Sheiling has six guest bedrooms, four double rooms and two twin-bedded rooms. All are en-suite, some with bath and some with shower. All bedrooms are spacious and have hairdryer, tea & coffee making facility, clock radio and lots of extra's to ensure you enjoy your stay with us. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor, the other four are on the first floor. The village of Ullapool itself was built in 1788 by the British Fisheries Society as on on-shore infrastructure to complement the huge fleet of boats fishing in the area for herring. Alas, that has now been hugely reduced with the introduction of the quota system, but each evening the local fleet arrives home to discharge its daily catch of prawns and lobsters. A visit to the pier to witness the hustle and bustle is well worthwhile. Ullapool is full of souvenir/craft shops, guest houses and hotels, it bustles all day long in summertime with people arriving off the ferry from Stornoway on Lewis or waiting for the next one. During summertime the many bars usually have traditional live music on offer. The town has a leisure centre with sports facilities and swimming pool, library, grocery shop, butcher's shop, chemist's (pharmacy/drug store), Somerfield and Costcutters supermarkets, post office and petrol station. There are branches of The Royal Bank of Scotland and The Bank of Scotland here too. We also have a theatre and library. Rates: From £70 to £84 per room per night based on 2 people sharing. Children are welcome. No smoking. Sorry, no pets. Off street parking. Wi-Fi/internet access.
