Stables Cottage sits in a beautiful part of Devon and enjoys stunning views of the surrounding countryside, overlooking the Taw Valley, just half a mile from the village of High Bickington. The two double guest rooms are in a beautifully converted barn, which is for guest’s exclusive use.

The village of High Bickington has two pubs, a community shop and a post office as well as access to delightful walks with stunning views. Stables Cottage guests can enjoy a round of golf at Libbaton Golf Club for just £15. North Devon has some of the most beautiful beaches in the south west; Saunton Sands and Westward Ho are both 18 miles from Stables Cottage, while Braunton Burrows, Croyde and Woolacombe are all little more than 20 miles away. With Exmoor (15 miles) and Dartmoor (23 miles) just a short car journey away. The area is blessed with a great range of other places to visit including the gardens at RHS Rosemoor, Dartington Glass, Arlington Court, Clovelly, and lots more. Why not take a boat trip out to the island of Lundy, or cycle or walk some of the wonderful Tarka Trail?

Road Directions:

From Junction 27 of the M5 you are around 45 minutes from Stables Cottage.
Travelling south through the village of High Bickington pass the Golden Lion on your left and take the next left turn. After half a mile on your left you will come to the first property, Nethergrove Farm; the entrance to Stables Cottage (and Nethergrove House) is immediately after the farm house.

Public Transport Directions:

High Bickington is served daily by a bus to and from Barnstable. The beautiful Tarka train line, between Exeter and Barnstaple, stops in Umberleigh almost hourly and Mick & Tracey are very happy to collect guests from the station.
