The River House offers magnificent guest house accommodation in Ramsey on the Isle of Man. Our house is in 3 acres of beautiful gardens in a tranquil location. We are just a ten minute walk from the centre of Ramsey and the perfect base to explore the local area.
The River House was built around 1820 and was completely renovated by the present owner. This property is furnished with antiques, including two elegant and comfortable reception rooms which guests may use. Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious, luxuriously appointed and furnished with pretty chintzes. Many rooms enjoy lovely views of the river, the nature reserve and Snaefell.
There is a ground level suite with a large, beautifully furnished sitting room and bedroom. This comes with an adjoining bathroom. Double French windows from the bedroom open onto the river.
Room rates include a full English breakfast served in the sunny garden room. Guests may also choose from cereals, porridge, grapefruit, bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns and eggs. We serve toast with homemade marmalade and jams, tea and coffee. If asked for in advance, guests may also have Manx kippers or smoked haddock.
The Sulby River runs alongside our garden and is home to salmon, sea trout and grey mullet. It is the longest river on the island.
