The Red Lion Inn

Hognaston, Ashbourne, Derbyshire

The Red Lion Inn is located in the centre of Hognaston near Ashbourne, which is a pretty village that is nestled on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Our Derbyshire pub is family run and offers superior guest accommodation with en suite facilities.

Our guest rooms are adults only and are tastefully decorated and furnished. We have had a number of lovely guests stay with us previously including John F Kennedy Jr and his wife Carolyn Bessette. All of our guest rooms are en suite and have Wi-Fi internet access.

Breakfast is included within the room rate and is served in our restaurant each morning. Lunch and dinner are also available and is made using local produce wherever possible. We also have an open fire lit in the winter and a cosy bar area for those who simply want to stop off for a drink.

Our 17th Century inn overlooks Carsington Water which is renowned for its scenic beauty. Walkers will love the surrounding area as there are many beautiful walks, several that start from the front door of our inn. The Peak District National Park is within easy reach and is home to some of the most beautiful views in England.
