Melbourne House provides lovely bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of Derbyshire. With the famous town of Buxton close by and the array of sights to explore across the Peak District National Park, our B&B is an ideal choice for visitors to the area.
Our Grade II listed building is over 300 years old and is sympathetically appointed. All of our rooms are en suite with bath or shower, twin or double beds, TV, alarm clock and tea & coffee making facilities. There are two ground floor rooms for easy access.
A delicious full English breakfast or vegetarian/vegan alternatives are served 8 am - 9 am. If you have any special dietary requirements please do let us know.
Melbourne House is an excellent base for touring, visiting local attractions and is a short, level 200yds walk to town centre. We also have Easthorpe (opposite) which we run jointly, with breakfast served in Melbourne.
Bakewell is set in an enviable location on the banks of the Wye, with the river meandering gently through the centre, this beautiful old market town is in the heart of the Peak District, surrounded by stunning countryside views. Famous for its puddings, annual events and for receiving a royal charter as a market town in 1330, markets are still held every Monday in the town centre and there is a thriving livestock market.
The Peak District itself is a world of contrasting natural beauty, with moors and dales, rivers, springs and caverns and at its heart the Peak District National Park, known and loved by millions for its breathtaking views, relaxation, inspiration and adventure. There are countless places to explore, you will never be bored, especially if you have an adventurous streak.

Deposit normally £10 per room payable by cheque in advance.
