Escape to the stunning peaceful countryside at Greenwick Farm.
The Pearson family welcome you to our 460 acre working farm nestled 700 feet up on the unspoilt hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. Our Victorian farmhouse overlooks a stunning wooded dale and is the perfect place to switch off and relax in our luxurious accommodation. Treat yourself to a hearty home cooked breakfast in the recently refurbished dining room, that makes the most of our fantastic view.
Walking the grounds of the farm you can enjoy the wonderful bird life. Buzzards and the occasional red kite soar across the tree tops and our owl box in the garden has been home to a brood of Tawny owls for the last few years. In fact, be it woodpeckers or pheasants, you are bound to see some beautiful wildlife in the fields and walks that surround our farm- many of our guests return time and again to walk the area. Enjoy our lovely woodland garden, relax in the secluded summerhouse with a good book or just sit on the terrace with a cup of tea or maybe a glass of wine and just take in the beautiful scenery.
We bought the farm in 2005 and have since completely refurbished the large victorian house and garden to provide beautiful accommodation and a lovely family home. We are a busy working farm and we grow potatoes, corn and oilseed rape as well as rearing sheep and pigs. If you stay at the right time of year Iím sure you will be roped in to feed the pet lambs.
The Yorkshire Wolds (David Hockney country), unspoilt, steeped in history, is the most amazing walking, cycling and horse riding country with The Wolds Way, Chalkland Way, Minster Way and many more all on the doorstep. We can arrange a pick up service for anyone on a long distance walk, or there are plenty of circular walks for people wanting to stay a few days and enjoy the area. We can also provide packed lunches and clothes and boot drying area. Also close by is the coast, historic houses and gardens and the city of York, about 20 mins drive with park and ride so you donít need to worry about car parking.
We do hope you will choose to stay with us at Greenwick Farm, where you can be sure of a warm welcome, the ideal location for a weeks holiday or a short break to explore the Wolds and local area.
