The Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel is to be found in magnificent setting at the head of the Great Langdale Valley in the heart of the Lake District.
For 300 years the Old Hotel has offered a home to fellwalkers and climbers. Most guests call in at the Hiker's Bar first, where a selection of real ales provides a just reward after a long drive or a hard day of fell and rock.
The ODG Hotel accommodation comprises twelve bedrooms, six having en-suite shower facilities while the remaining six rooms each have their very own separate private bathroom facilities adjacent. An abundance of hot water supplies our bathrooms for a well earned soak after a hard day on the fells.
Each room has its own individual character, as you can imagine for a 300 years old Hotel whilst maintaining the comforts you require to relax and unwind, not forgetting the stunning Lake district panorama that you wake up to. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in all guestrooms.
There is a spacious and comfortable residents' lounge with an open fire, a quiet residents' bar, excellent wine cellar and dining room, together with drying room.
The dining room is a comfortable place to enjoy good home-cooked food, within a friendly atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive, and staff are always happy to advise and help in any way they can.
A warm welcome is extended to climbing and fell-walking clubs and we offer a discount for young children. Wedding buffets can be catered for and we also offer meals to non-residents by advance booking.
Breakfast is served in the dining room from 8.30 to 9.30am. Fantastic packed lunches available on request. Table d'Hote Dinner is served from 7.30pm in the dining room by prior booking, to reception no later than mid-morning on the day required.
