Foxghyll Country House B&B offers luxurious accommodation on the beautiful Under Loughrigg Road. We are nestled in a stunning countryside location in Cumbria but only a 10 minute walk from Ambleside, perfect for an idyllic getaway.
The property is in a relaxing and tranquil setting, boasting 3 acres of gorgeous, landscaped garden to enjoy. Our Grade II Listed property dates from the 1600s and even housed the author and literary figure Thomas De Quincy as a tenant for a short time.
You can choose from a range of spacious and elegantly furnished bedrooms. Each room comes with an individual character and a variety of high-quality facilities: en suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, CD player, clock radio and hair dryer. The 4 Poster Room: Our large en suite room comes with a lavish king-size 4 poster bed and enjoys breathtaking views over the garden and Wansfell.
The Front Room: This bright en suite room includes a king and single bed and looks over the Fells and River Rothay.
The Spa Room: Our spacious en suite room comes with a king and single bed and has direct access from to the garden/private terrace area with outdoor seating.
You are welcome to stroll around and relax in our private and secluded garden, with its abundance of plant and shrub life. A delightful small stream runs through the grounds and throughout you can savour glorious views of Lakeland fells. From land adjoining the River Rothay, Foxghyll can also boast private fishing.
Ambleside is a small town in the Lake District which has a vast array of shops, restaurants and a cinema. The area has so much natural beauty to discover and is a haven for walkers and climbers. You can walk to Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70-foot waterfall or enjoy a range of outdoor adventure activities available around Ambleside and Windermere Lake.
