Description

In line with COVID 19 government guidelines, The Gem will be reopening soon and looking forward to welcoming our guests back. In order to comply with the Government social distancing rules only one room will initially be open. If, however, you are a party of more than 2 people from the same household and require an additional room, I may be able to accommodate you, please contact me directly on 0774 2222160. The Gem is in Winchelsea Beach, East Sussex, and offers comfortable and homely accommodation that is suitable for both business and leisure guests. Winchelsea Beach is a pretty village and just a short drive from numerous attractions and places of interest.

Breakfast is included within the room rate and is served from 7.30 am to 9.15 am in the dining room. A full English or continental option is available and can be enjoyed outside in the beautiful country air on warmer days. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available along with a choice of cereals, muesli, fresh fruit and selection of preserves.

Taking in the local countryside The Gem is a 20-minute walk to the quiet stretch of sea and shingle beach. For the more energetic, it is a 40-minute walk to Rye, across the fields, passing the ruins of the 16th Century Camber Castle (built by Henry VIII circa 1539), and finally walking alongside the River Brede.

The beautiful historic Cinque Port of Rye with its cobbled streets and unique boutique and antique shops is just 3 miles away, where life is less hurried and time takes a break.

Rye offers many varied eating places to suit all diets and cultures, including the Grapevine, Champagne and Jazz lounge, which is a cosy and friendly eating place offering live music every weekend. All guests can enjoy a 10% discount here whilst staying at The Gem, please be sure to ask for a voucher.
