Cefn-Y-Dre sits in one and a half acres of gardens, on the fringe of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Our country house bed and breakfast is surrounded by mature and majestic trees, close to Fishguard in Pembrokeshire. We are the perfect base for discovering the coast and landscape of this beautiful corner of Wales.
Accommodation is provided in three spacious rooms, two of which are en suite with the third having a private bathroom.
The Gallery Room - As its name implies, this bedroom - pictured above, - is a mini art gallery featuring original paintings of local scenes. With two large windows overlooking the garden, the room is bright and airy and benefits from a large screen ‘Smart’ TV providing, in addition to a full range of Freeview Channels, access to BBC Iplayer and the internet.
The Preseli Room - Normally used as a twin room, but provides the flexibility to be configured as a large double. (Please specify your preference when you make your booking.) The wardrobe is built into the metre thick wall, leaving a spacious area for you to move around. As with the Gallery Room, we have installed a wall mounted large screen ‘Smart’ TV providing, in addition to a full range of Freeview Channels, access to BBC Iplayer and the internet. Free Wi-Fi is provided so you can still use your laptop, tablet or smartphone.
The Garden Room - From the window, it has been known for guests to watch the antics of badgers digging on the lawn in the garden for up to twenty minutes. Though this is our smallest bedroom, with wardrobes and cupboards built into the thick walls there is still plenty of space for moving around. Facilities in the room include Bathrobes, free Wi-FI, a well stocked hospitality tray and TV with all Freeview TV and radio channels. This room is not en suite but it has its own private bathroom just steps from the bedroom door.
Dinner can be provided if booked in advance, and being licensed, you can choose from a selection of beers, wines or spirits at very reasonable prices. A newly decorated lounge, without television and looking across the garden, is always available for you to enjoy the tranquillity of Cefn-y-Dre while feeling the 500 years of history all around you.
Cefn-y-Dre, in its 500 year history, has welcomed many travellers, from Prime Ministers to the leader of the successful 1953 Everest expedition. More recently we have seen politicians, authors, composers, artists, pianists and guests from all over the world enjoying the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere here in the Pembrokeshire countryside.
